Hakushu is a Single-Malt Japanese Whisky with a surprisingly crisp, fresh taste and a gentle peating. After malting, the grain is milled and mashed, then added to Suntory’s large wooden wash backs for fermentation. The high-altitude location gives the storage facility one of the most unique climates in which to age the slumbering spirit. The color of Hakushu 12 year is Champagne gold and the nose offers the influences of basil, pine needle and crisp green apple. The palate is sweet pear, mint and the slight acidity of Kiwi. The finish yields notes of gentle tea and subtle whispers of smoke.
